Post-hardcore, noise rock quartet El Shirota formed in 2012 in Chiluca, México by Jose Ignacio Gomez, Mauricio Avendaño (Buried Under Stars, Loiis), and Alonso Salamanca (Reflejo (2)). Emanuel Brenes joined on drums after the release of their first EP 'Chiluca No Es Satélite' on 2013. At some point in 2015, Avendaño left to form Loiis and Ruben Anzaldua joined as second guitarist; two self titled EPs were recorded during that era. Salamanca departed in 2019, making David Lemus Chalé their bassist until 2022, when Avedaño returned and assumed bass duties.
