Peggy O'Keefe

Real name: Margaret Patricia O'Keefe

Peggy O'Keefe (1928-2019) was an Australian-British pianist, bandleader, and television and radio presenter. She worked first in her native Melbourne before relocating to London in 1960 and then to Glasgow in 1962.

She played daily on STV's "Today Is" with John Toye, as well as fronting a stream of her own television and radio programmes.

She was a busy and in-demand session pianist in various genres of music, and appeared on many recordings, broadcasts and live music performances. She frequently performed with Cleo Laine, Marian Montgomery, Dick Haymes, Mark Murphy, Helen Merrill, Annie Ross and Matt Monro - especially (but not solely) when they performed in Scotland.
