Finnish musician best known as the drummer of Eppu Normaali. Born April 4, 1959 in Ylöjärvi, Finland.

Often overlooked in the band and outshone by the mercurial press friendly personalities of his better known relatives- his cousins,the Syrjä brothers, Martti and Mikko- Aku, despite being in a punk band who outgrew their roots, has all the skill of Topper Headon from his English rivals the Clash, or the late Charlie Watts. Aku is happy to hide behind his bigband skill which like Mikko Nevalainen and Sami Ruusukallio's bassplaying, helps to create a subtle wall of sound.

He is the cousin of Martti Syrjä and Pantse Syrjä.
