Ryan Choi, born on December 2, 1984 in Honolulu, Hawai'i, is a composer, artist and multi-instrumentalist. He began his formal musical studies on the double bass and soon developed an interest in composition, theory, improvisation and other string instruments, notably the tenor and baritone ukuleles, which he plays in both standard form and a variety of non-traditional tunings and preparations.
