Brooklyn trio Gold Lake's roots trace to a chance encounter in a Madrilenian, Spain nightclub. After bonding over a love of West Coast canyon country and '70s era Eno, vocalist Lua Rios, guitarist Carlos Del Amo and drummer Dave Burnett started up Gold Lake, eventually relocating to New York. Their debut album was three years in the making, with the record weighing in on the tragedies and joys of life. With its shimmering harmonies and instrumental passages, Years was tracked at Madrid's La Cabaña studios with engineer Jose Nortes ahead of being mixed by Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, the Walkmen, Father John Misty).
