The Dutch boys' choir was the heart of the Zeeland Choir School foundation. The choir school was founded in 1954 by Evert Heijblok, and disbanded in 2012. The choir offered boys from the age of 5 up to the vocal break (around 14, 15 years) the opportunity to become proficient in singing and music. The choir is based on the English tradition.
The repertoire included spiritual (Gregorian chant, Latin masses and motets) and secular vocal music.
