Born 7 October 1976. He is a multi-talented Finnish violinist best known for his work in the field of classical music.

Kuusisto was the first Finn to win the Jean Sibelius Violin Competition in 1995. He appears regularly as soloist with different symphony orchestras and as leader with chamber orchestras like the Virtuosi di Kuhmo.

Pekka Kuusisto is also at home with jazz, folk, soul and rock music. He is known for his improvisational skills on different instruments, including singing.

His older brother Jaakko Kuusisto is a violinist, composer and conductor. Their father is the musician and composer Ilkka Kuusisto.
