It is recommended that you use The New Mayfair Dance Orchestra for releases on this artist.

This was a London studio orchestra used for recording purposes by The Gramophone Company from 1928 to 1942. Records by this group were credited as The New Mayfair Dance Orchestra, New Mayfair Dance Orchestra, New Mayfair Novelty Orchestra or The New Mayfair Orchestra, depending on the type of material recorded.

Over the years sessions were directed by various musicians including Percival Mackey, Carroll Gibbons, George W. Byng, Ronnie Munro, Harry Leader, Phil Green and most famously Ray Noble (1929-1934) but by 1932 they changed their name to "Ray Noble & His New Mayfair Dance Orchestra" (Ray Noble And His New Mayfair Orchestra), then in 1933, it was changed again, this time known as "Ray Noble And His Orchestra".
