The Vibrants

Members: Casey Van Beek

The Vibrants were the house band for the Traffic Circle Cinnamon club. The membership included bass player Cassey Van Beek (a.k.a. Casey Van Beek) who joined the band when he was in his teens. Otther members were Armond Frank, Bob Young, Jessy Johnston and Larry Britain. They played the Cinnamon club for about six years backing various acts. Bob Eubanks was involved in their backing The Scuzzies on their recording "Dave Hull The Hullabalooer" which was released on CRS Records. It was composed by Suzie Cappetta. The owner of California Recording Studios, Bob Field co-produced the recording session with Don Wayne. The song which was about radio DJ Dave Hull became a local Top 40 hit in 1965.

During their time, The Vibrants opened for The Dave Clark Five and The Rolling Stones’ first L.A. area show. They also toured with Peter & Gordon.
Around September 1967, the group broke up and some of its members returned to college. Van Beek who at this time was 23, set up another house band called Cotton Candy..
