José Pianeta Pitalúa
(March 19, 1900 - 1974)
Colombian musician, trombonist, and orchestra director born in Ciénaga de Oro.
He made his debut in the field of jazz in the Lorduy orchestra of Cartagena, which was born as a string trio in 1911 for the centenary of Cartagena's independence which in 1917 would become Orquesta Lorduy and in 1923 Jazz Band Lorduy directed by Francisco Lorduy Benito-Revollo ("Pacho" Lorduy)
Later he formed the popular music orchestra Buenos Aires to perform in a nightclub known as "El Bar Pullman" and in 1933 he decided to strengthen the orchestra and changed its name to Orquesta "A" Numero 1.
