Born June 18, 1922, in Paris, Claude Helffer was a pianist known for his interpretation of modern music and composition. He died on October 27, 2004.
Studied until the 2nd World War under Robert Casadesus (1899-1972). Fought in the French Resistance during the war, for which he was also decorated. He studied music theory and composition with René Leibowitz (1913-1972). He debuted in 1948 in Paris and performed regularly at the Domaine Musical, (a concert society founded by Pierre Boulez ), where from 1954 to 1972 concerts of contemporary music were organized.
