British violinist, orchestra leader, and violin teacher. Born 2 August 1953 in London, England, UK.
Founder of the Arditti String Quartet, creating the group in 1974 whilst a student at the Royal Academy of Music. He joined the London Symphony Orchestra in 1976 and, after two years, at the age of 25, became its Co-Concert Master. He left the orchestra in 1980 in order to devote more time to the Arditti Quartet. Violin teacher at the Accademia di Musica di Pinerolo.
Husband of Hilda Paredes with whom they have a son, the counter-tenor Jake Arditti.
