The Ray-O-Vacs

Members: Lester Harris, Harry "Lester Harris" Lester, Herb Milliner, Joe Crump (3), Jackson "Flap" McQueen

1940's and 50's American R&B group. They were formed in Newark, New Jersey by Harry Lester. Band was named after the brand of storage batteries.
Group members included:
Lester Harris (Vocals, Drums), Jackson "Flap" McQueen (String Bass), Joe Crump (Piano), Leoparte "Chink" Kinney (Saxophone), Herb Milliner (vocals) replaced Lester Harris in June 1951 on Decca & Jubilee. For their song "Party Time" 1955 the vocal was done by William (Bill) Walker. He also sang lead for "Wine-O" 1956.
