Louis Ribeiro
Real name: Louis Ribeiro
South African musician of Latin origin, also singer, songwriter and producer.Louis Ribeiro was in the famous band Zeebra from when he met the South African-born Selwyn Schneider (ex-Rabbitt) from London. They immediately started writing together and began a particularly creative and constructive phase for both of them. Calling themselves SPLASH, Selwyn and Louis produced one album.
Then, Louis took a big hit in 1986 with the title "Feels Like Friday" (Righttrack), co-written by him and J. Doveton-helps featuring musicians like McCoy Mrubata (Saxophonist), before he moved with Sipho Mabuse to Johannesburg. He was a little known multiracial/crossover act from Cape Town, South Africa, and is now one of Mzansi's most respected jazzmen.
