            Warszawska Orkiestra Sentymentalna
Effective period / Period of releases: 2016
The Warszawska Orkiestra Sentymentalna (Warsaw Sentimental Orchestra) is a band tasted in the old melodies of the Polish pre-war revue and cabaret. Songs and songs from the repertoire of Adam Aston, Wiera Gran and Mieczysław Fogg, arrangements by Henryk Wars and Rostworowski, the orchestras of Gold and Petersburski, Karasiński and Kataszek, constantly inspire us. Touching waltzes, passionate tango, lively polkas, thrilling foxtrots, rumba and slow-foxy - we choose the best of the scene and screen richness of the interwar and post-war period, and perform the style and timeless charm of these melodies and adding a touch of contemporary musical sensitivity. We debuted at the Polish Radio "New Tradition" festival in 2015, and a year later, thanks to the fans' engagement on the odpalprojekt.pl portal and the support of Program 2 of Polish Radio, our debut album "Umówmy się na dziś" was released.
In May 2017, our debut album "Umówmy się na dziś" received the third prize in the Folk Phonogram of the Year competition organized by the Second Polish Radio Program as part of the "New Tradition" festival. Another May distinction for our debut became Virtual Gęśle - internet users decided that it is the best folk album of 2016.
Because the dansing repertoire of the interwar is a bottomless well, we regularly explore it, which is the result of our second album - "Dance my gold". Its premiere took place in the form of a ball at Wilhelm Landau's bank house at ul. Senatorska 38 in Warsaw on October 7, 2017.
Our discography has been dynamically expanding recently, two months after the premiere of "Dance My Golden", on December 10, the Christmas "Carol Singers" in our performance hit the market. We tried to arrange and record the repertoire we selected in a way that imitated old pre-war recordings, as well as drawing on traditional Polish music. We want our Christmas carols to be a kind of accompaniment accompanying family carolling together.
In order not to fall asleep pears in the ash ... we are working on another record.
