She has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest four times as a singer, once in the background choir and once as a lyricist and composer. In addition, she has participated in the Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix twelve times.

She was married to singer Jahn Teigen from 1984–1988.

She is the mother of Sara Teigen.
