Claude Akiré (real name Claudia Linnell, nee Gschwend, born 21.08.1933 in Immenstadt, Germany, died 08.04.2012). She grew up in Kempten and suffered from Scoliosis in her teen years, leaving her partially handicapped. Though she was gifted in music and arts, she took a job in the chemical industry. She took guitar lessions with Prof. Santiago Navascués, a Segovia pupil, and had interest in old music. She won her first music award from the Bayerischer Rundfunk in 1963. Her first concert took place at the Lenbachhaus in Munich in 1969. In the 1970s the Goethe Institute invited her to international tours across all continents.
