Valentino recorded his one record in 1975 at the age of 22. 'I Was Born This Way' on Bunny Jones's Gaiee Records was the first openly gay protest song. It became a hit in discos from New York to London and was quickly picked up for distribution by Motown. Motown released another version of the song in 1977 using the singer Carl Bean.
