American singer and actor (born on May 11, 1946, Camden, New Jersey - died on September 13, 2014, Truth or Consequences, New Mexico). He was an original cast member of the Broadway rock musical "Hair," and his backlit afro hairstyle became an instantly recognizable emblem of the show on posters and the cover of its cast album.
