The Ramblers

Members: James Gibson, Alton Hollowell, Johnny Alvin, Sonny Munro

American R&B, Doo Wop group.
Released their first record in 1956
Changed their name to The Fabulous Playboys and continued performing and recording.
In 1962/63 The Falcons were in difficulty. After the release of Fine, Fine Girl / Oh Baby in 1963 they disbanded when Willie Schofield got drafted and Eddie Floyd and Wilson Pickett weren't always available.
Robert West manager of The Falcons refused to let his group die.
He took a group known as The Fabulous Playboys (who recorded on , Apollo Records and Contour Records and were The Ramblers on Federal Records) and made them the second incarnation of The Falcons.
Continued performing as The Firestones after the Falcons.
