Kjell Höglund

Real name: Kjell Örjan Höglund

Effective period / Period of releases: 1970 - 1992

Swedish singer and songwriter, born December 8, 1945 in Östersund.

While attending boarding school in Strömsund in the sixties, Kjell joined his first band. It had different names, for a while called Fairlines and later The High Fences, maybe other names as well. Kjell played solo guitar and Svante Blom played bass. Others played accompaniment guitar and drums. They played instrumental guitar-based covers from Violents, Shadows and Spotnicks. Kjell also also wrote own songs in the same style. Towards the end they also started singing, Beatles songs for example. Svante sang, with some exceptions. It culminated in the drummer becoming so good that he got a job with a professional dance band and that was the end of the story. Then they finished high school and split up.
Kjell moved to Stockholm and started his solo career.
In 1973, he was also active in pirate radio broadcasts, and got sentenced in court.
Lives in Västerås since 1990.
Re-married (after having been widowed) to Clary Heidenborg Sept. 6, 2012.
