On the occasion of an award ceremony for the school ski race of the Filzmoos elementary school in February 1984, the “Filzmooser Tanzlmusi” played for the first time in public. Father Nikolaus Rettenwender and his sons Norbert and August (then 11 and 13 years old) delighted the audience with the lively music.

The youngest son of the Rettenwender family, "Nigg junior", followed in his father's footsteps from 1995, so to speak, and replaced him on the trombone.
