Peckham Royalty was formed in April 2001 after Gordon heard Chris playing with Robin Jones. In their first session they wrote "Minor Villain" and a few CDRs were passed out; one of which found its way to Danny Krivit who then played "Minor Villain" at "Body & Soul" and led to it being signed by Wave Music.

The duo continues to hone their sound which they would describe as "deep and jazzy" with a balance of programmed and organic elements.
