Ans Heidendaal (born April 16, 1916 in Netherlands., died December 29, 2000 in Amsterdam, Netherlands) started her singing career on May 31, 1938 in the radio program "Licht en Luchtig". Then she went to study with Maigda Heemskerk and Aaltje Noorderwier, both had a major influence on her musical development. In the 40's/50's she was part of the vocal trio "The Swinging Nightingales", part of Gerard Van Krevelen choir and performed as a soloist with Pierre Palla as accompanist in a fourteen-day program from 1956 to 1960. She married Jan Boots, the first announcer of the AVRO, and had four children, Paul, Iris, Marga and Ed.
