Brother of Jean Surrey (Jean Dinning) who co-wrote his biggest hit "Teen Angel". Also brother of Lou Dinning, Ginger Dinning and Dolores Dinning of The Dinning Sisters. Brother also to songwriters Wade Dinning and Ace Dinning.
He charted four times between 1959 and 1961 in the U.S. & U.K. "Teen Angel" hit #1 in the U.S. (#37 in the U.K.)
