SuperString was an avant-garde / progressive rock group founded in 1998 in Seoul by Haejin Kang(vln), Sangman Kim(b) and Yuntae Kim(ds).

Soon, Sooyeon Oh(kbd) and Hanjoo Lee(gtr) joined the band and they acted in a variety of performances and film music. However, it took a long time before they released the official record.
Starting with the avant-garde rock album in 2016, they began to focus on album work. SuperString reorganized the band with a new keyboardist, Johan Ahn, and released their third album , to show their identity as a heavy-progressive rock group in 2018. This album was nominated for Best Rock Album in 16th Korean Music Awards in 2019.

In 2018, saxophonist Katie Ha Dong-ju and new guitarist Hwang Myung-soo joined the band and they performed as a six-piece group until disbanding in May 2021.
