Dutch folk music and chanson duo that started making music together in the late 60's. Elly & Rikkert converted to christianity in the mid 70's (around1976) and started making reli-pop. The christian message especially in the mid 70's to early 80's is very much upfront. In the early 80's the focus of the lyrics shifted to a more society focused lyrics. The first album with their renewed lyrical focus is "Maskers Af". Their children's music would continue to have more upfront lyrical content.
