"Four-A-Melody Men" is the true name of this Gospel band from St. Louis that has been active since 1935. Aristocrat/Chess renamed them "Seven Melody Men", only to revert to "Four-A Melody Men" again on reissues. In 1935 the Four-A-Melody Men also recorded for Decca but the records were released under the name of the Mound City Jubilee Quartette, a different group that recorded the same day.
