George Lys Herard (born May 30, 1961) was a very popular Haitian artist, DJ and radio host better know under his artist name Master Dji. He was an icon among the youth in Haiti and he is considered as the first ever rapper in Haiti and the father of Haitian hip-hop, releasing his first rap song in Haiti in 1982. His very first hit came in 1986 with the release of the rap song "Sispann" which was a huge success. He not only released music as a solo artist but was an artist who promoted, helped and pushed other young artists of the time, including the project Haiti Rap & Ragga, among others. He passed away on May 21, 1994.
