The Blackstones are a UK-based vocal trio formed in 1974 who have maintained the traditional style and sound of reggae harmony groups from the roots era. The original members of the group released a few singles that charted and a debut LP. By 1983 the lineup changed and the group saw further success on the reggae charts and a critically acclaimed sophomore LP. After several albums the lineup changed again, and in 2004 continued with several more albums. The group became a quartet in 2019. Throughout their history the members have supported many live acts on tour, and have been crucially overlooked since the Dancehall era. Long supported by a fan base fond of classic reggae sounds, they perform to this day.
