Yannis Papadopoulos (Alexandria 1908 - Athens 2002) was a Greek piano soloist.Yiannis Papadopoulos was born in 1908 in Alexandria and grew up in Neo Faliro where he started piano lessons at the age of 7. He studied at the Athens Conservatory, the Hellenic Conservatory and the National Conservatory where he received a piano diploma in 1949. In 1938 he was appointed music program editor of the newly established Athens Radio Station. He collaborated as a soloist with the State Orchestra of Athens, the Little Orchestra of Athens and the ERT Symphony. He also became known in European music centers, playing as a soloist under the direction of distinguished conductors and collaborating with selected Greek and foreign artists in chamber music and Lied concerts. He was the first pianist to play the piano works of Manos Hadjidakis and has even recorded some of them in sheet music for publication.
