Dr. Gerald Deas
Real name: Gerald Whitehead Deas
b. 1933 in Brooklyn, NY. Graduated in SUNY '62: M.D., later earned the degrees MPH, MA. Possessor of an overtly prolific lifetime career in Medicine and poetry, with exceptional service to the Black community. To record collectors, he is known for his friendship with Brook Benton and their 1971 Christmas song, "Soul Santa".
