مهرداد کاظمی is originally from Kilan city, Damavand county (born in 1951 in Tehran), composer and singer of traditional Iranian music.

مهرداد کاظمی has been performing pop songs on Iran's national radio and television since the early 1972. Among his most well-known works is the performance of the song "Sukut To" accompanied by شهره on the national television of Iran. مهرداد کاظمی was one of the few singers who in the first years after the revolution of 1979 in Iran, along with artists Mohammad Golriz, رشید وطن‌دوست, Esfandiar Qarabaghi, Mohammad Reza Shajarian and Shahram Nazeri, his performances were broadcast on the Islamic Republic of Iran Radio and Television.

He is one of the first generation of pop singers in Iran during the years of the Iran-Iraq war, and at various times, he performed traditional, pop and symphonic works, including the piece "E Sarban".
