Australian rock band: mid-1980s to 1988. Melbourne outfit Cattletruck started life as Caught in a Cattletruck, a small-time St. Kilda bar band playing in an acoustic country-blues idiom. Paul Janovskis and Tony Dennis formed the band out of a mutual love of the roots music of Johnny Cash, Screamin' Jay Hawkins and early Elvis Presley. Paul Janovskis and Tony Dennis decided to take on a more electric sound. Phil Viggiano (keyboards) and Peter Knight (trumpet) joined in early 1985. With the departure of Todd, who joined The Wreckery, the band recruited Nick Cross on sax.
