Born Bernice Ruth Reed on November 10, 1946, in Springfield, Ohio, USA, and also known as Alaina Reed Hall and became Alaina Reed-Amini in 2008.

She was a gifted actress and singer, best known for playing Olivia, Gordon’s kid sister, on the beloved show Sesame Street from 1976 to 1988 and also for playing Rose on the sitcom 227 from 1985 to 1990. In addition to her television work, she cut a lone 7-inch single for Capitol/EMI Records in the early 1970s. She died on December 17, 2009, in Santa Monica, California, of breast cancer.
