Ard Eggens

Effective period / Period of releases: 1979 - 1981

Ard Eggens' career started at a very young age. As a toddler, he and his twin brother sang in shops for sweets in Groningen's Oosterpoort district, where Ard was born.
Ard is 17 years old when he auditions and is hired as an actor at Dick van Peursen Sr.'s semi-professional theater company. He ends up at "De Grunneger Sproak" when he wants to play more in the dialect.
Later he wanted to do more with singing and joined the revue company "Martinicabaret", where he sang for many years and was discovered by a record producer during a performance. He can record a record with Polydor. His first album 'De Rode Rok' from 1981 saw him appear on TV three times and in many live radio programmes. The album sold 26,000 copies.
Ard is now a presenter and singer at many show programs both in the Netherlands and in Belgium and founded the German-language folk music program "Der Volksmusik Express", together with the orchestra "Ellen And The Moodmakers". He is also active as a singer and presenter of the well-known revue company "De Gein Express" from Sappemeer.
In 2000 the record label Maura Music from Zuidbroek offers him to do something in Groningen for a CD, together with producer Ejo Dreise. With the album 'Lözze Vogels' he is again in the spotlight. There will also be a Groningen-language CD 'De Langste Nacht'.
In 2015 Ard Eggens is sentenced to 18 months prison for sexually abusing a young boy.
