Ethiopian band, led by Mahmoud Ahmed.
The band got formed from the core of the Soul Ekos Band. The first band line-up included international musicians such as Zimbabwean guitarist Andrew Wilson and vocalist and percussionist Ismail Jingo who had to leave the country in the early 1970s. They got replaced by Selam Seyoum, Girma Tchibsa and Haile Ghiorgis for the second Ibex line-up. The band disbanded 1979 when most of the musicians flew to Sudan due to civil war and the comunist Derg regime.
