Janet Rienstra is a worldwide independent music producer. She first started Gang of Seven, a spoken word label, with William Ackerman.
In 1996, back in New York, she founded Meta Records along with musician/producer Bill Laswell.
She's interested in spoken words / ambient music and seems to be seriously involved in Yoga practising.
She has worked with renowned authors, poets and musicians including Paul Bowles, Patti Smith, William S. Burroughs , Willem Dafoe, The Last Poets and Philip Glass to name a few.
