Real name: Thomas Richard Engel

Tommy Engel (born 28. November 1949 in Cologne), is a German musician and TV actor. He started in music as a drummer in various 1960s bands, and was the in-house session drummer at Dierks studio in the 1970s. In parallel, he was also a singer and a founding member of the Bläck Fööss (their front man until 1994), and later the Lammers/Steffen/Engel project LSE. He is a prominent figure in Cologne's music scene and has had multiple Carnival hits. His son Kai Engel is a member of Brings.

He should not be confused with Thomas Engel or Thomas Passmann-Engel (of Gebrüder Engel).
