Nancy Wright

American radio and TV big band singer and actress.
Born in Jacksonville, Florida.
She broke into TV as an Arthur Godfrey Talent Scout winner. She sang with groups of bandleaders Frankie Carle, Al Trace, Tommy Dorsey, Blue Barron, Teddy Phillips, Caesar Giovannini and Jay Norman. She sang on W-G-N in Chicago in the 1950's including on "Cub-60" and the short-lived game show "Cartune-0". She played with Jimmy Wilbur's Orchestra at WLW-T in Cincinnati, Ohio and also did shows in Milwaukee, WIsconsin.
She had regular and guest appearances on Jackie Gleason's "Cavalcade of Stars", "The Danny O'Neil Show", the "Club 60" show with Dennis James (gaining the distinction as the first female vocalist to appear on Network color TV), and several others.
