Botho Lucas located in Berlin where he founded the Botho Lucas Trio and later in 1958 the Botho Lucas Quattet with changing female vocalists like Daisy Door, Ulla Wiesner and Grethel Kärstel. In 1959 he moved to Cologne and founded Der Botho-Lucas-Chor. In 1961 they had a huge hit with their interpretation of "Danke" the winnersong of the Christian music competition. It got sold over 250.000times. From that point on, the choir was well booked and often present in the TV. They had a few other hits and were touring till the Eighties, one time for example with Bert Kaempfert & His Orchestra, what brought them to play Royal Albert Hall in London.
