This is the Brazilian version of the Invisible Opera Company Of Tibet, a codename and musical concept created by Daevid Allen (from the band Gong).
Several different bands in different parts of the world picked up this spiritual concept, lifestyle, political attitude and philosophical beliefs, trying to create a new kind of musical collective.
- In Australia (1986-1992) : Invisible Opera Company Of Tibet, the original band led by Daevid Allen and Russel Hibbs
- In Brazil (1988-today) : Invisible Opera Company Of Tibet (Tropical Version Brazil) (this band), led by Fabio Golfetti
- In US (19??-????): The Invisible Opera Company Of Tibet (2)
- In UK (1992-today) : The Invisible Opera Company Of Tibet (3) led by Brian Abbott

The Brazilian branch, initially provided with the suffix 'Tropical Version Brazil', was the first one to manifest around 1988/89 when guitarist Fabio Golfetti of the psych prog band Violeta De Outono contacted Allen with the intention to collaborate. They recorded the first single 'Numa Pessoa Só' in 1989 and two years later their debut 'The Eternal Voice' came out, musically a mix of ambient, glissando and ethno/world elements.

During a trip through Asia, Fabio Golfetti collected ideas for the album 'Glissando Spirit' (1993). The album explores aspects of oriental music and space-rock. It features the stable line-up for the following years, which is Fabio Golfetti, Renato Mello (keys, sax) and Claudio Souza (drums). They played at Belo Horizonte Independent Fest and recorded material that was later released as 'Live at Britannia Café' (Invisível INVL005 - 1994) and 'Glissando Spirit Live' (Voiceprint VP341 - 2004).

The band reformed on several occasions furthermore. In 2005, this time as a quintet, they played at Art Rock Festival featuring Fabio Golfetti (guitar), Renato Mello (alto sax), Claudio Souza (drums), Gabriel Costa (bass) and Fernando Cardoso (keyboards). In 2010 the new album 'UFO Planante' was released on Voiceprint, recorded by the trio Golfetti, Costa and Fred Barley (drums).

The IOCT (Brazil) also collaborated with Daevid Allen and Josh Pollock (of Daevid Allen's University Of Errors) in Gong Global Family that toured Brazil in 2007.
