Died (Melbourne, Australia) - 21 April 1997
Awarded the O.B.E. (Order of the British Empire) in August 1963 for services to music. Was publicly announced in "The Age" (an Australian newspaper) on 1st January 1963. In 1968 he composed the music to the national anthem of Nauru, entitled "Nauru Bwiema" (in preparation for the independence of that country) with lyrics by Margaret Hendrie.
