Dorrit Kleimert

Swedish opera singer (soprano), born 23 May 1938 in Stockholm, died 20 June 2018.

She graduated as a music teacher in 1964 and studied at the Opera School and the Stockholm Academy of Music 1957–1967. She made her debut in 1965 as Antonia in Hoffman's Adventures in Växjö and at the Royal Theater as Micaëla in Carmen in 1966 and was employed there the same year. Her roles include Eurydice, Pamina in The Magic Flute, Mimì in La Bohème, Liù in Turandot and Amanda in Werles Tintomara. She also performed at Drottningholmsteatern and guest performed in cities such as Athens, Warsaw and Moscow. She retired from the Opera in 1990.

She was awarded the Jussi Björling Scholarship in 1973.
