Ikuo Taketani

Real name: 竹谷郁夫 (Taketani Ikuo)

Ikuo Taketani is a Japanese drummer and painter who played in the notorious extreme noise band Hanatarash with Yamatsuka Eye, subsequently joining him in 1985 as one of the founding members of Boredoms. Taketani recorded the band's debut song "U.S.A." with Eye, which appeared on two compilations: Kill S.P.K. on Japanese label Beast 666 Tapes and, under the different title "Super Punk King," on Dead Tech Sampler - No Wave From Japan LP by Dossier in Germany. Ikuo Taketani left Boredoms shortly after these compilation appearances to join Zeni Geva, replaced by Toyohito Yoshikawa.
