Junior Senior

Real name: Jeppe Laursen & Jesper Mortensen

Effective period / Period of releases: 2002 - 2007

Members: Jesper Mortensen, Jeppe Laursen

Junior Senior were a Danish pop duo, active from 1998 to 2008. The duo consisted of Jesper Mortensen alias Junior (11) (vocals, guitar, bass guitar, keyboards) and Jeppe Laursen alias Senior (2) (vocals, keyboards, programming). Before forming Junior Senior 1998, Mortensen and Laursen had played together for one year during 1995-96 in Ludox. The name is explained by the simple fact that Laursen is the oldest and biggest of the two. The duo signed a deal with Danish label Crunchy Frog and released their debut album D-D-Don't Don't Stop The Beat in 2002. It contained the single Move Your Feet, with vocals by Thomas Troelsen of Superheroes, that became a massive radio hit in Denmark. Universal subsequently released both the album and the single internationally, and Move Your Feet gained worldwide success in 2003, most notably in the United Kingdom where it went straight to number 3 on the UK Singles Chart. The duo was invited to perform on Tops of the Pops as one of the few Danish acts ever. 2005 saw the release of second album Hey Hey My My Yo Yo that reached number 2 on the Japanese albums charts. Mortensen and Laursen announced that they would split and pursue solo projects on 26 September 2008.
