Guitarist from Houston, Texas, who has played R&B, rock, blues, country and bluegrass.
Originally from Houston, Bettis graduated from Washington & Lee University in Virginia in 1975. He moved to Austin, Texas after this, playing with bands including Mother Of Pearl and The Austin All Stars. He continued to play music after returning to Houston, fronting The Big Al Bettis Band and organizing the “Night of the Living Guitars” show.
