Australian singer active in 1950s.

Worked on Sydney wharves before taking up singing at various local nightclubs and also appeared at many Sydney jazz concerts in the 1950s. In 1957 left for the U.S. and played for seven months in Las Vegas. Was the first Australian to perform at the Hollywood Bowl. Altogether spent 18 months in the U.S. and was on various tv shows such as Ed Sullivan, Steve Allen, Perry Como, etc. Also recorded for U.S. for Capitol in 1957 (apparently a 10" LP titled B"Billy May Presents The Swinging kangaroo" was planned, but only four titles were released).
