Swiss wind quartet, founded in Berne, Switzerland in 1997. They all were students of the Hochschule für Musik in Berne, where they met and founded a chamber music ensemble. They won numerous awards and played in many locations inside and outside of Switzerland, as Zurich, Munich, Berlin and Paris. The name Ikarus is derived from their relation to the classical element 'air', as they are a pure wind instrument ensemble.
