Austin-based quartet Transit Method deftly straddles the line between prog-rock and prog-metal. Spearheaded by brothers Matt LoCoco (lead vocals, guitar) and Mike LoCoco (drums), the band recruited singer/guitarist Bryan Rolli and bassist Charlie Anderson (also Panopticon's live violinist) for its third full-length album 'Othervoid,' released in February 2024. It's a ferocious, anthemic and dizzyingly technical LP whose seven songs showcase the breadth of the band's songwriting, from the punk-metal riffs and dueling guitars of "Psychometry," to the vocal harmonies and trad-metal gallop of "The Outside," to the shapeshifting, nine-minute album closer "Frostbite."
